Independent Short Film Screenings:
Submission Guidelines

Since the Centre opened in January, 2003 we have been screening short films on a regular basis. We have screened over two hundred and fifty films made by independent filmmakers. This is an opportunity to have your work screened, see the work of others and meet people with common concerns and aspirations.

The films come from everywhere: On The Fly, TIP, Humber, York and Ryerson Film Schools, CFC, Calling Card, Bravo!FACT and more. There is a Q & A after the screenings with directors, cast and crew.

Film submissions always welcome!

"Dear Filmies,

If you haven't been to the Independent Film Screenings at the Centre For The Arts then let me yell you something. You are missing out. Screenings consist of independent short films from Toronto artists as well as others from across Canada. Every type of genre you can imagine and some you've never even heard of before. Some films have screened here first and then gone on to be accepted by festivals and even gone on to awards. But let me digress, this is NOT a competition. It's about being creative. It's about showing films. It's about contributing to local and Canadian culture. It's about discussing film in a casual atmosphere. It's about new friends. It's about community. It's about being INCLUSIVE not "exclusive."

Welcome to the Centre For The Arts."
