Sarain Boylan recently starred in the Sci-Fi adventure Gretl, the dramatic feature A Wake co-starring Nicholas Campbell and Martha Burns, and the action films Death Warrior and Gangster Exchange (Six Best Film Awards – Canadian International Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival etc). She also starred in the comedy Freezer Burn – The Invasion of Laxdale opposite Tom Green and Crispin Glover. She appeared in Bon Cop Bad Cop (Genie Award – Best Picture), the ‘dramedy’ Baby Formula (Audience Award – Toronto LGBT Film Festival) and in the highest grossing horror franchise film Saw IV. Sarain has also starred in such films as Posers with Adam Beach, Night’s Noon Time with Rob Morrow and Derek Jacobi, The House, Ringtone, The Right Way , Bleacher Bums with Brad Garrett and Maury Chaykin, Hayseed with Scott Thompson, and Hustle directed by Peter Bogdanovich.

Some of her television work includes Republic of Doyle (CBC), Being Erica (CBC), Rookie Blue (ABC), Aaron Stone (Disney), Rent-a-Goalie (Showcase), CSI Miami (CBS), Til Death Do Us Part (Global), Dagvaktin (Iceland), The Call (CBC), Gong Show (WB), Murder in the Hamptons (CTV), Happy Face Murders (Paramount), TrailerVision (CityTV), Once A Thief (Alliance), The Hunger (Ridley Scott) and Nero Wolfe (A&E) among others.

Sarain also works as a filmmaker, shooting documentaries (What Unites Us, InTentCity), co-producing music videos (Rumsfield, Choclair) and has coordinated the production of over 50 short films working through Centre for the Arts with the Teen Film Camps (supported by William F. White, Trew Audio, Sim Video). She sits as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Centre; a not-for-profit organization supporting the development of Canadian artists in film and television. Sarain has worked professionally as an assistant director apprenticing with the Directors’ Guild of Canada (Jerry and Tom – Miramax, White Lies – CBC, etc.) and trained for many years under the tutelage of the Gemini award winning and renowned Canadian director George Bloomfield. In 2007 she organized and produced a joint program with Theatre Revolve to assist 20 young immigrant women in successfully making their first films. Sarain has written three feature length films and is now finally in pre-production on her first – The Cellar Door.

ASHLEIGH RAINS

Ashleigh is a graduate of Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Drama. She spent eight years studying at Canada’s National Ballet School, and performed in six seasons of The Nutcracker with The National Ballet of Canada (Hummingbird Centre, National Arts Centre).  She began her acting  training with Equity Showcase Theatre, and continued at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and Centre for the Arts.

Some of her film and television credits include Flashpoint (CTV/CBS), Dan for Mayor (CTV), Warehouse 13 (SyFy), Murdoch Mysteries (Shaftesbury), Roxy Hunter and the Myth of the Mermaid (Nickelodeon), Mayday (Discovery), Save the Last Dance 2 (MTV/Paramount), Catacombs (Lionsgate) and several television and film productions with the Canadian Film Centre. Ashleigh has also performed in numerous theatrical productions and television commercials.

Ashleigh recently completed production on the short film II, which she produced and wrote. She was the recipient of a Bravo!FACT award for this film.  Ashleigh is currently in development for the new Siskiyou music video a band she has worked with previously, co-producing their first music video, “Never Ever Ever Ever Again” (MuchFACT).

Ashleigh has been instrumental in the production of the Centre for the Arts’ Film Camp for Teens. She has participated in not only in the development of the camp but also in the successful completion of countless short films.

TROY MILLER

Troy graduated from Humber College with Honours in 2001. During his final year he was awarded the William F. White Award of Excellence for outstanding ability in all areas of the Film & Television Production Program. Since that time, Troy founded and has lead the growth of the production company Pendulum Entertainment; producing music videos, documentaries, commercials, television specials, and short films.

Troy works professionally in all aspects of filmmaking; as a director, producer, writer, cinematographer, and editor. He has worked on over 30 music videos (airing worldwide, including MuchMusic and MTV) with Canadian artists The Tragically Hip, Minority, Rumsfield, DonSkilachi, Bucky4Rukus, Gaiaisi, and more. He’s shot several documentaries including InTentCity (Hurricane Katrina), The Contender (The Rudy Brady Story) and Through Roses (Saul Rubinek and Pinchas Zukerman). Troy has worked with such clients as Luminato (since it’s inception), VideoFACT, SmartCentres, St. Joseph’s Communications, Munge Leung, SoftChoice, Ports 1961, and PBS. Troy ’s directed the short films Cheating Death, Baytree Crescent and Suite 320 , and assisted in the production of 20 short films through Theatre Revolve and another 50 short films through Centre for the Arts’ Teen Film Camps. Troy also sits on the board of directors at Center for the Arts, a non-profit organization that offers training to actors and filmmakers in Toronto .

Troy recently directed the music video for the lead-off-single from Choclair’s (4x Juno Award winner) forthcoming album. He is currently directing a one-hour broadcast documentary titled Canada_Version3.0 (Allen Cross, Kevin Tierney, Michael Geist, and Stephen Stohn), exploring copyright reform within the creative industries of Canada, in today’s digital age. Most importantly, Troy is currently developing the feature film The Cellar Door.
